Helping the Victims of Serious Airbag Injuries Nationwide:

If you or someone you love has been seriously injured or killed
in an auto accident involving a defective airbag, you will need very
    specialized legal representation.

The public depends on airbag systems to protect their lives. An airbag
module is known as a passive occupant restraint system within the auto
industry as opposed to an active system, like a seat belt. The vehicle
occupants do not have to engage the airbag in any way to gain the
protection of the system. Once a vehicle impact or collision triggers the
crash sensors in the vehicle, the airbag module should deploy.  However,
our auto products attorneys have seen many people seriously injured or
killed because their airbags either did not deploy, or deployed at the wrong
time or the defective airbag itself is the cause of the injury. It is our job to
hold companies responsible every time their airbags, installed in automobiles
to protect occupants, end up injuring them instead.

There are various airbag systems within most modern automobiles. These include the driver module, passenger
module, side curtain module and knee module. Depending on which particular module is defective a wide range of
injuries - including serious injuries to the neck, face, head, shoulders and torso - can be caused by airbag defects
    and airbag failures.

The most common airbag defects and failures include:

  • Failure to Deploy: When an airbag fails to deploy during an accident, the driver and occupants can suffer serious
    head, neck and facial injuries.
  • Late Deployment: When an airbag deploys late, not only does it not protect the occupant, it actually causes
additional damage because the forces of the accident have usually positioned the occupant too close to the air bag
    at the time of deployment.
  • Accidental Deployment: An accidental deployment may cause drivers to lose control of their cars, causing
    serious injuries.

Identifying airbag defects can be difficult. While the Takata brand has received the bulk of defective airbag media
coverage over the last year for defective airbags, they are not the only manufacturer and certainly not the only one
to ever produce a defective airbag. Other manufacturers include Autoliv, Key Safety Systems, DAICEL, and TRW
Automotive. Our experienced airbag accident attorneys are adept at working with the right experts, understanding
automobile "black box" information, and looking for telltale signs, such as a bent steering wheel, deformed airbag
module covers, and similar clues to help you seek justice and bring your claim.
